Just returned from Urbana09, inspired with many new ideas to act on. One of those opportunities came from the Advocacy track with which I was assisting. Not usually a active advocate myself, I've learned a lot and loved it. Monday, we (500 students and staff) wore black shirts with a single word to catch people's attention (Sold, Defiled, Seduced, Forced, Indebted, Abducted, Threatened, etc.) to describe and relate real stories of childen in slavery today. We are a part of the Human Wrong Campain to end child slavery in promotion of the Child Protection Compact Act coming before congress in the upcoming months.
